Common Hitachi AC Problems and Diagnostic Checks
Understanding what might be wrong with your Hitachi AC helps you know what to check before calling a technician. Below are common repair situations in Pune:
1. AC Running but Room Not Cooling
During hot summer afternoons in Pune, dust can choke the outdoor cooling coils. This makes the compressor overheat and shut down after a few minutes. A weak capacitor or low refrigerant gas can also cause poor cooling. Cleaning the coils and testing gas pressure usually solves this.
2. Outdoor Unit Humming but Not Starting
If the indoor unit blower works normally but the outdoor unit only makes a humming noise, the motor run capacitor has likely become weak. Replacing the capacitor with the correct microfarad rating allows the compressor to start smoothly.
3. Water Dripping from the Indoor Unit
When dust and mold block the indoor drainage tray or drain pipe, water cannot flow outside and overflows down the wall. Flushing the drain line with water pressure and cleaning the tray clears the blockage.
4. Display Error Code or Blinking Lights
An error code or flashing timer light usually signals that a temperature sensor has drifted out of range or communication between boards was interrupted by a voltage surge. A technician tests sensor resistance and board voltages.
